DAVID L. RYAN/GLOBE STAFF/file 1982
Simon Geller played classical music in Gloucester, MA from 1964 to 1988 when sold the station for a million bucks and moved out of town leaving all his taped programming to the Dust Bin of History. Providence smiled and his tapes were saved. After decades in a wet basement and 100’s of hours of dedicated restoration this piece of broadcast and Gloucester history is ready. This music is being offered by the Gloucester Writers Center whose mission is to celebrate, preserve and promote the future of Gloucester’s rich literary legacy. Simon didn’t leave any writing behind but he left hours of music. He was a voice that contributed significantly to our culture and because of this contribution we are happy to offer it here. The GWC is committed to insuring that all our diverse voices can be heard. Please listen and enjoy.
