Former GWC Board Member Wendy Fitting flipped a quarter to determine who would read first. Ellen Solomon won. Ellen’s chapter from her unpublished novel took the audience on an immigrant’s bumpy ride across the Atlantic from Germany to Charleston S.C. Wendy unpacked a story from her time working at the Fernald Developmental Center. (the US’s oldest publicly funded institution serving people with developmental disabilities.) This heartfelt and witnessed reading was a lovely pairing of writers.
