Eloise Weld Hodges grew up in Essex, then moved in 1954 with her family to Dolliver’s Neck, Gloucester. As Associate Editor and feature writer for North Shore Magazine (1975-80), she wrote about people and places that illuminated that part of the world. She reads from Wishbone, a collection of essays about family events and related ruminations, which she self-published last September. She and her husband, Art, who have three children and nine grandchildren, summer in Essex and winter in Boston.
Born in 1935 Art Hodges grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. A graduate of Harvard College, he is a retired investment advisor and a lifetime diarist. His historical novel Will’s New World, set in 17th century Taunton, MA, was privately published in 2014 and is available on Kindle.
He reads from two recently published novellas. Knight Trail is a tale of two middle-aged brothers hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail in southern New England. A 16th century Durer print on the wall of an inn presages trouble and even death for one of them. Open Book Exam is a story of four couples who ponder the meaning of life over many dinners.
