Many thanks again to you and the Board for your generosity in allowing me the time at GWC. The uninterrupted time to work on the bibliography was much appreciated! As a retreat it was perfect; quiet and comfortable, yet close enough to everything in and around Gloucester so that I never felt isolated. I was able to get into a ‘zone’ I haven’t experienced elsewhere, i.e. I’d sit down after a bracing morning walk into Gloucester for breakfast, begin work and find that many hours had passed and it was dinnertime. Then another gorgeous, regenerative walk into town for dinner, followed by a few more hours work. An absolutely perfect week, with so much accomplished.
