Write On! Works in Progress. Session 2.

A workshop for writers well into their manuscripts. We read and discuss each other’s work building on the strengths of each manuscript and finding the problem areas for more focus. In-class exercises are based on the issues that arise in the participants’ work, providing ways in to deeper understanding of your characters and their situations, and the ways you can bring them to life on the page. ANN MCARDLE received her MFA in fiction from the Pine Manor Solstice Program in Creative Writing. She has published several nonfiction books. Her first fiction publication, the story “Tomorrow,” appeared in the premiere issue of Pear Noir! in 2009 and also aired on Carole Giangrande’s podcast, “Words to Go.” Her ten-minute play, “More,” was produced in 2014 at Roxbury Repertory Theatre. She was a finalist for the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s 2014 Literary Artist’s Grant and received a grant from Turkey Land Cove Foundation on Martha’s Vineyard for 2015.
