The Gloucester Writers Center is a place for working writers in a working town
Sunday, October 8 – 6 Hours 9-12 am (Lunch) 1-4 pm
Have a Fish Tales story you are looking to hone, or a new tale you’ve been toying with? Bring it in! Or bring a true-life tale (600-700 words) inspired by a chosen theme (a theme can be given, or we can work with you to decide upon one). Participants swap their stories, designed to meet specific goals of the workshop, with a partner. Splitting into two groups, participants then spend the morning rehearsing with the NYTI team on how to present their partner’s story with a little oomph! After lunch, participants come back together to present each other’s story. Our day closes with a “talk-back” to help participant writers share any new perspectives gained from hearing their experience embodied in their story told by someone else. This is also an opportunity for participants to receive feedback from the group on how to further develop the story they wish to tell.
