The Gloucester Writers Center is a place for working writers in a working town
James Cook and Dave Rich.
How do writers use research to stimulate imagination? In this Mug Up we’ll explore the relationship between investigation and creation. We’ll look at some of the ways that writers like Charles Olson, Eduardo Galeano, Kristen Prevallet, Ed Sanders, and Ernesto Cardenal have made inventive use of documentary investigations. Bring some research—historical, genealogical, botanical, geological, etc.—to use as the basis for some writing of your own. Or, make use of the materials on hand.

The Mug Up Workshop Series is a mini-semester meeting on Saturday mornings from 9-11. Sharpen your pencil and join us as we focus on a variety of subjects. Each workshop is $30.
